Lighting has been an essential part of the traditional Japanese lifestyle, influencing the daily activities of people and creating a unique atmosphere in the living spaces. In the past, lanterns with exposed wicks were used to light up the nights in Japan, and as technology advanced, light sources and fixtures changed dramatically.
Relay 1 is a minimal light designed by London-based designer Michael Anastassiades. The floor lamps in this family offer a versatile lighting solution that allows for easy interchangeability. The lamps are attached to a marble base, and changing the lighting element can be done by simply touching the base.
Doppia is a series of vessels created by London-based designer Tom Robinson. Doppia is a multi-use container that can be 3D printed from recycled bioplastic and is well suited for use as a vase or a carafe. Observations that vases, jugs, and carafes are frequently employed for the same function of containing or pouring gave rise to the idea for a universal vessel
Rícino is a minimal lamp designed by Brazil-based studio Estúdio RAIN. Rícino is a series of lamps with an almost incorporeal appearance, made of vegetable resin based on castor oil. The proposal brings to light the living aspect of the material, exalting its aesthetic qualities and proposing an alternative application to its originally technical use.
Kino II is a minimal portable wireless lamp created by France-based designer Samy Rio for From the Bay. The lamp is made out of a weaved bamboo shade and a steel lacquered body. The combination of those two simple elements provides a simple and playful small lamp. The weave of the bamboo silhouetted over the light creates a dynamic interaction between shadows and light.
W223 Pawson is a minimal light created by London-based designer John Pawson for Wästberg. John Pawson’s design combines curved and rectilinear elements to create a quietly monumental volume. Notched cutouts in the form contribute detail to the lamp’s distinctive profile, while also serving the functional purpose of shaping the way the light is cast and creating an entry point for the cable.
Water Based Light is a minimal light created by Vancouver-based designer Calen Knauf. The Water Based lamp is a collapsible floor lamp, developed as a response to the problematic issue of shipping “solid mass”, overwheight lamp bases. Iris is a minimal pendant designed by Caine Heintzman of ANDlight. A kaleidoscopic light extends from the orb-like source of the Iris, traveling beyond its crystalline surface. Encased in an elliptical shell, the Iris performs with a weightlessness that lends it an aerial quality. Voluminous and vast, it enters a room with salient scale. Suspended as a pendant, the Iris floats effortlessly mid-air.

Through the Reel Lamp, Spatial Semiology reveals the electric wire, the component that is an essential accessory to the light but has been hidden as a “part,” as the primary material.
Series-M Tray is a minimal tray created by Texas-based designer Dennis Tsai. As an organizing tray, the tray provides functional organization possibilities and can be used to keep things tidy on a tabletop and close at hand. It is hand-crafted from a single 6″x12″ aluminum sheet. The flanges on the long side are bent to 60° to create an inviting gesture for users to place objects inside the tray.

No. 0122 Standing Lamp is a minimal lamp created by Sydney-based designer Olivia Bossy. The piece is constructed of charred tallow, cambia ash, stainless steel, and linen. The collection was born of fire, Euclidean geometry and the display mechanism of museum artifacts. A single metal rod extends from the back of the frame to the base, while light is emitted from a triangular linen shade.
Azuma is a minimal bowl Valencia-based studio Kutarq for Lunar Object. The piece’s name comes from one of the active stratovolcanoes on Earth. The design contains a cone-shaped crater, and used as a small object to store precious items, durable and eternal. The design is made of sand cast aluminum, or sand cast brass – refracting space and time with my polished interior finish.

Fin is a minimal tray created by Seoul-based designer Rayna Lee. It is made simply by way of cutting and folding only. The folded wings can be used as a handle or divider for grip. The curvature of the surface creates lively reflections and shadows while the fin creates a curved illusion. The bend of the fold allows for items to be reflected from one side of the tray to the other.
Torch / Lantern is a minimal flashlight designed by LA-based designer Alex Hans. Interested in the relationship between humans and technology, Alex Hans created this flashlight to explore new paradigms of human technology interaction. When held upright the Lantern emits a soft glow lighting the entire surroundings, when pointed the light organically focuses into a beam. No buttons are needed; the flashlight naturally reacts to human touch.

In pursuit of creating an object that has longevity, every stage of life is considered. For Stone Collection, two table sculptures created by revolving a square through a circle and oval to create two stackable geometric vessels: a bowl and a pill.
Desk Lamp 202102 is a minimal lamp created by Copenhagen-based designer August Hugo. August established his studio in 2020, showcasing his works of single and serial produced artwork and furniture. Exquisite compositions of glass-blown Pebble Pendants create radiant chandeliers emphasizing range and grandeur as they inhabit a space. The configuration of pendants from a multipoint canopy accentuates the Pebble’s organic silhouette and soft contours as they appear to pulsate in unison, radiating a mesmeric aura.
I-Standard is a minimal pendant created by Paris-based designer Samy Rio. These series of lamps are a study about how to combine LED light standard with bamboo poles that I want to consider as potential natural standard. The lightness of bamboo and low voltage of LED allows to work with a small power cable wich goes into a ropes that’s become the element allowing to move and direct the light.

The ball joint design allow the LED spotlight to be freely moved giving the possibility of a direct light projection and a indirect light projection by means of a circular diffuser.

The thin aluminum armature houses dimmable LED strips and pivots at its centre, enabling it to expand and contract to fit any surface.
Mag Lamp is a minimal lamp created by Tokyo-based designer Tatsuo Kuroda. The mag lamp is a table lamp that can be freely adjusted in height and direction.
